No, you shouldn't. But you can

Question is what you want achieve. FOr example: to make proper good sounding bass you don't need to do 'per note eq'.
For sure, soon someone here will take you advice why and for what he use this method of eq           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450

Of course you can go as deep as you want, in music there is no that much limits, but i would't go that deep..           - - - - -

depends really...

what speed is your music?

if its progressive then no need to equalize the different notes...

if its faster psytrance... over 150... and you are using rolling bass, i strongly recommend that you cut out the sub of the first note around 120hz, cut a bit less on the 2nd note around 80hz, and 3 note has full bass.
cause your kick already has sub in it, so you don't really need that much sub in the bass on the first notes.
then group the bass and kick in a bus channel and add a limiter.
set the limiter to that the kick by itself, the kick should be at -0.1db
then unmute your bass, you will see how the limiter limits only the bass sound, if you do an export you should have a nice glued kick bass....

sorry if my explanations are a big confusing... i should make a video about this...           On 2011-03-08 23:13, moki wrote:

Limiter on the bassline will have an effect on the transients though.

To "boost" harmonics of the bassline you only need to use exciters or enhancers.
This is may helps

if your using sidechain, then yeah you don't really need to cut the sub out on the notes...

concerning the grooves on different notes, yeah export every single note on a different audio channel then use a different equaliziation on every note. so that the sound, sounds stable...           On 2011-03-08 23:13, moki wrote:

for over 50 years people don't use that kind of eq and they make thousands of great tracks. i think that its not needed for make good bassline. it reminds me old sampling methods where people use 1 note of bass in sampler and they makes an bassline from.
but it always can be a new way of producing and maybe soon people start to repeat this method very often (like in case of benassi bass what opens way for many new genres like psyprogressive for example )

so my answer is... do waht you think is good for your sounds. only the greatest never looks for other opinions, they just do what they have to do           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450
