JUST My view - Writing while listening :)

Good stuff and good for listening.

Your kick hasnt enough volume, bass sound doesn't fit in the song. effect are good and pure -> think you should condsider to build up bass and kick around them =) It could be possible to make kick more punch with a faster decay (sonnox gate and SSL4000 punch preset), bass is cool but need to be eq for the mix

/////

-You have probably bad volume balance at the beginning, before equing and it makes a gooad frequency balance problematic. Set the levels carefully.

1. PREPARE VOLUMES - Disable all inserts and effects on a synth. Recreate reverbs, delays etc later with vst plugins. Look at volume meters and make sure all your tracks peak volume reach -6db when your the current fader is at 0db. So set volume fader to 0db and bring down/up the volume from synth until it's peaks are at -6db

2. SET VOLUMES - When you have all volume faders at 0db and all your tracks reach -6db peak level -> start to lower tracks volume that you consider too loud. Keep the kick volume fader at 0db and bring others down (to the next volume mark (on the fader) http://www.obedia.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/081209-1617-stemsandgro5.png ). now you got a correct volume basic balance.

3. 1st EQ - now it's time for 1st insert which is an CUT eq. You don't wanna bring anything up, you just protect the compressor not to compress annoying frequencies. Listen the song and find out annoying sounds or tracks and use light eq on them to reduce annoying frequencies (forget all laws, things you heard, don't look at number - just use your ears to cut between whole range 20-20000 where it's needed, don't ever use highpass or lowpass if you don't hear any mess there.

3. LOUDNESS COMPRESSING - now you wanna tight up the dynamics of all instruments. open sonnox dynamics.

example:
Your bassline:
-look at volume fader and tracks volume on mixer. you can reckon "the volume range" (example you wanna make 10db range to as 1db)
-bring threshold down until you reach 10db
-use fast attack and release so compressor attack fast.
-raise ratio until you hear the sound overcompressered, bring down ratio bit
-check the volume in volume fader all the time so it will stay in the current volume mark
-if volume is not stable at 6db play with compressors threshold and ratio until it stays in -6db and it's still not overcompressed
-trust your ears and forget everything you have read from books
-now you got compressed dynamics

4. SURGICAL EQ
Now you have to make all sounds to fit perfectly together. open sonnox eq and your'e ears only mode. Find all full frequces by sweeping with high Q value. Don't care where it exist if it scratch your ears, sounds full or muddy, or mess up the song it neede to be reduces. Don't reduce more than 3db, in some cases 6db. If you have to, you have already done something wrong =)

5."Add punchy". For percussive sounds you can use Waves SSL4000 for tight up the sounds. Use preset and play with knobs.

6.Other inserts, now add delays and stuff and EQ them.

7. You can use group for the kick and bass. Use SSL4000

Bass can sometimes be a dilemma, but so can many things be!
Its all where you put your focus on! you can find errors everywhere... so maybe dont be too picky cause then you wont get anywhere

hmm sounds nice, but i still think a snappier envelope would make the bass thighter.

try to lower the decay to make the bass click and lower the sustain too (or do you have that much decay that sustain is set to 0? XD)

It wont sound that muddy then or you leave it; depends on you

to me it sounds that the bassline is too loud. the kick is still too low at volume. lower the volume of the bassline 2 db and raise the volume of the kick 1-2 db.
the sound of the bassline sounds good to me. i don't think that the decay should be shorter.

OK. New years! and im here trying to fix this hehe.I hope u guys have funn. like party and shit u know.So
I closed the envelopes alot more, and the sound kind of went a little thinner, so I went to the quadrafuzz and gave it a little more gain in the low frequencies.
and basically listen to a pro song to see how was the volume mix. And try to acomodate the bass, so It doesnt take over the whole song, anny ways I hope is a little better than before. Im really burning my last neurons here haha. well cheers!!
