hi

i'm currently working in a track (posted a draft in the new tracks section, so if you wanna take a listening and leave a comment ) and although it sounds good in normal sized speakers it sounds terrible in crappy headphones.

the mix is not polished enough even for normal speakers, but in headphones it sounds like something i would have made 3/4 years ago.. (crap crap crap crap crap )

any sugestions?

usually i steer clear from "multimedia enhancement" vsts like waves max bass and others, but...

thanks

Troublesome issue here. Bear in mind that using enhancements like MaxBass and monitoring it on bad monitors or in bad acoustic environment can be much more damaging than leaving the mix with a weaker low end.
It takes a lot of practice and knowledge to treat it right. No fast solutions there.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

due sy
disregard the headphones.
I know some people work with headphone sto produce, but overal unless they are super high end they give a totally wrong impression.
The whole freq responce, stereo, everything is dif with headphones. 90% of the time trust the speakers/monitors over them.

Also, its good that you stear away from those plugs don't get tempted bro

I can think of a myriad of "professional" basslines that sound lame when heard through headphones.

Psytrance is engineered ,first and foremost, for big soundsystems. While your bassline may very well need some improvement, listen to it loud somewhere before buggin' out.

And, dude, Waves RBass is awesome.

usualy the basslines that sound best on PA don't sound so best on home speakers and even more on headphones (at least imho). headphones are a bit useless (again imho) for kick & bass mixing... once i tried to make a bass that sounded good on headphones (using just headphones... ok crappy headphones lol) and i did it. but when i switched to my usual speakers it was horrible.

i hear great difference too between speakers an headphones.

i know i would suggest u trust the speakers/monitors cause their reproduction of sound is closer to"reality" if u know what i mean!

but if u have really good headphones then maybe something s wrong with the mix!
