Oh that really sucks, cause I just finished a track and I encoded it on 320kbps quality, and instead of giving the file to my friends I'll just burn it on CD and give to all.

Perhaps there is something wrong with your sound cards or computers. It is true that 128 kbps mp3s suck but I can't tell the difference between a 192 kbps mp3 and the original CD track.

However, I do buy CDs because I like to support the artists and some CD covers look just cool, but I don't buy them because of better sound quality.

you might from time to time notice a slight difference between 192kbps mp3 and the cd but for sure there's no audible difference between 256kbps mp3 and the cd..

That's not true wine drinking trancer. Mp3's are cut quite heavely in the top and bottom freq. On a big sound system there's a huge difference between CD quality and mp3's. Even at 256kbps.

No I am talking about a regular sound system at a party. Believe me. There's a huge difference.

The problem with mp3's on sound systems at parties is that the sound mostly get "muddy" and at high volume also many times start to distort. That is to me a huge difference from the clear sound on CD's ! But vinyl is for sure the best if you want dynamic soundquality.

telling the truth i've never really given a thought to what the music is coming from (cd, lp, laptop) at a party. i'm just always too busy having fun.

and you should

I am mostly talking directly to DJ's who use mp3's when they play. I find it wrong especially since they most of the time get paid when they play. They should be able to buy the music and not download it and they also have a responsability to do a good job - which isen't the case if they use mp3's.

This is a pretty usual fallacy among socialists and other kinds of collectivists. The fallacy is that "rule X applies for thing A that is of type Z" therefore "rule X is applicable for thing B since thing B also is of type Z".
To put it simple: "goa, and trance was never bout the money..." is a fallacy, not an argument. There has always been as many different "definitions" of trance as there has been people involved in the scene, therefore there isn't (nor has there ever been) a single truth on the "proper level of commercialism of trance-music"-issue.
Besides, saying that money and artistical values can't be combined isn't true either. A good product that is based on art always needs artistic innovation, therefore these two aspects can't be torn apart - contrary to what is often claimed by socialists who think that getting paid for art isn't right.
