Bamboo Forest is a duet of the French scene that brings together two musicians, Stephane and Yann.
The name "Bamboo Forest" was created in 1995 by Stephane. After a short while, he met Yann who played under the stage name "Yucatan". Both of them grew up in a universe where music was the central point to all forms of instrumental production such as: piano, guitar and jazz studies. Due to their similar musical background they got along very well and decided to start working together in 1997 to develop the name Bamboo Forest.
The extensive dedication that has been put into this project over the past few years has allowed them to penetrate the club scene, parties and festivals. Permanent discovery of a new musical universe enabled by performing live concerts abroad gives them opportunities to widen their spectrum.
They have been working for various labels abroad releasing singles and compilations. Presently they are giving the final touch on a brand-new album, which will be released very soon under the "Visionquest" label. Their unique sound astonished the audience at the Visionquest party last november. They recently played live set performance in Tokyo, Japan and in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Nop friend, just half re-released i think
because the cd "random future" never was released because flying rhino has bankrupt, this cd has newer tracks , but some from the previous cd that were supposed to be released.
enjoy.

Yucatan also produced very nice downtempo stuff on Spirit Zone... I liked it a lot
I just can wish the best to this "band", especially after the great pain of Flying Rhino's End...

I very like the GMS style... they music have realy groove sound... i want to know if they wants to released some albums in this year??

Bamboo Forest was originally supposed to release their first album (Random Future) on Flying Rhino. It had got to the promotion stage when unfortunately Flying Rhino had to declare bankruptcy. The promos of Random Future found their way on to the internet, and therefore no other label was willing to release the album as it was, so Bamboo Forest had to record five new tracks, and rework the tracks that they kept on the album, and the album released on Vision Quest/Shaffel was a combination of tracks from Random Future and newer tracks.
The listing on Psyshop should probably be removed. Flying Rhino have been gone for a good while.
And for GMS, they will release a new album on Spun records some time around September. |
