I know this isn't a nice topic to bring up and it should be ignored or even merged with the devil worshipping or 'dark' threads but what the hell... I'll indulge.
My most recent bad experience was with a well known DJ from SF who moved to europe (sorry, out of respect I won't mention his name). He played down here in LA recently and brought some really good music with him. Unfortunately, he seemed to lack the skills to play these tracks. Apart from trainwrecking (which I'm able to get past, since it happens to everybody at some time) but when he started trying to do DJ tricks that was the point where the feeling in me was almost violent I was so pissed.. DJ tricks that disturb the track and only serve to 'show off' make me really mad. So the feeling I got from him was that he must have sucked a lot of cock to get these tracks. And the tracks began to sound like they were produced by artists who's motivation for writing them was to get his dick sucked, and they suddenly sounded really cheap. I left the party.
Another bad experience was a year or so ago, about the time when the dark and fluffy forces in SF were in battle. I went to a weekly at a bar where a local DJ fluffy was playing. I was feeling good and really wanted to trance that night and didn't care if it was cheesy. Unfortunately he had other ideas. It may have been in my head butI swear he wouldn't keep a track playing more than a minute before the track went into a breakdown. He kept doing this everytime and I realized his girlfriend was dancing kinda close to me which may have been why he was fucking with it. Anyway this is another moment when I wanted to kick the DJs ass.
I hope if any good comes of this thread it's that DJs will take note of the grievences people have posted |

I had an experience at an outdoor party a few years back where a DJ was so fried, he left the reverb effect on the mixer the whole time while he was playing. In addition, he was trainwrecking every single mix (which is understandable if he has to mix with the reverb in each track, and each beat sounded in triplicate, so he had to mix like 6 beats at the same time ), plus he really liked long 3-4 minute mixes...
the strangest thing of all, most people in the crowd acted like nothing was wrong, and they were dancing like it was the greatest set ever.
  ..it's just another party.. |

I get a bad experience every time i play live,
People organizing the party know what i do and they call me, and some narrowheaded idiots come on me while playing disturbing me with their dream tracklist and their E faces . . anyway the DJ is called to the party to play if you dont like the party concept . . u can be polite and leave |

this one is a killer man ....
Its very funny dude.
i dont agree with u mr. Genetic Spin !
trust me u got nothing to worry about !
i do think that when u on stage u got responsebility !! u must make your homework as an artiest / dj
many times i heard "DJs" that fucked it up or lets say should'nt play !! many cases is because they are friends of the organizers or some other interests
like how many ppl' they can bring in !
organizers ........make party
promoters..........promote the party
artiests / pro dj .......play
If we stick to this .....we'll have less bad expireances
I'm not saying not to give a chance to new ones ....but they must be ready ......
and if someone f 'up a mix or two its ok
if the style dont fit us its ok !!
but if someone really so f'up
we want to know about it !
so lets make it
the most dessaster set i ever heard !!

I believe that if am gonna spend over a couple of grands for an experience,it bettr b my moneys worth!! While we hav some awesome DJs spinning,we r constantly subjected to less than mediocre foreign artists. These guys, they still get booked full on.
