"OVERVIEW:
Having sold out straight away and with tracks licensed worldwide, it seemed essential to make a second Backroom Beats compilation. Here we have a fresh pack of beats from the backrooms of the world with contributions from the UK, Finland, Italy and Canada. With its set of chilled rhythms, BB2 makes for the perfect background to any restaurant, bar, home, or day and night of the week. This new chapter takes things one step further into the especial world of the backroom with stunning contributions by existing BB artists who have honed their skills to this new sound, between chill and trance and new artists that have picked up where the others left off on the first Backroom Beats compilation.
The Backroom Beats artists have all been very busy since the launch of the first album, The Egg who had a huge reaction to their track, ‘Venice Beach’, licensing it to Ministry of Sound The Chillout Session – Ibiza 2002 and The Big Chill – Loves You compilations, have been on tour presenting a synchronized audio/visual show around the UK and recently in Greece for the Samothraki Festival to 10,000 plus. They are preparing material for a new album and will be playing this weekend with Alabama 3 at the Greenpeace Christmas party in London. Benji Vaughan, who produced that track and this new one, ‘Lost At Sea’ with them, won an Award for his soundtrack of the recent Nike advert while his own band, ‘Contraband’ has been signed to Jive and had serious airplay from their recent hit as ‘Havana’ – ‘Monkey Business’. Benji as ‘Prometheus’ is releasing a new single ‘Snakes & Ladders’ for Twisted (TWST23) and working on a new album as ‘Younger Brother’. Tristan who starts the album with ‘Sapphire Eyes’ has just released his second album, ‘Substance’ as a follow up to his recent mix album, ‘Twisted Sessions – Vol.1’ and has seen a big response from both. Ott has just released a, ‘Hallucinogen In Dub’ album remixing Hallucinogen’s seminal tracks in a modern psy-dub style, which has been widely reviewed and is selling well. Simon Posford himself has been busy gigging worldwide, booked to play the full Solar Eclipse in South Africa just after the eclipse, finishing the Younger Brother album and working on Shpongle 3 with TIP World’s Raja Ram. Italian dub maestro Gaudi from Orchestral World Groove with DJ Pathaan, just finished remixing the new Simple Minds single in a similar electro-dub style to his track, ‘Chaine a chaine’. Esion Jim has been busy building up a DJ empire supplying the London bars and clubs with the latest in lounge; he is presently the resident DJ at Bar Zeta behind the Hilton on Park Lane. One half of Hierophant, producer Dick Trevor alongside working with such names as Danny Howells and East West Connection has been working on the new ‘Rainbow ‘ remix project, while the other half Ed Bigland has been Djing in Greece, Finland, and London while working on compiling this compilation and running monthly charity ‘Backroom Beats’ nights in London in aid of the Kalahari Bushmen.

Once again Maharishi complete the package with exquisite style and class continuing their urban camouflage theme with a ‘bonsai camo’ design"

After the first everlasting compilated backroOm beats selection, they strike again...

"SomerSettler" by OTT, both DoOf tracks and discovering (for me) "Venice Beach Dub" by Stuph on the first volume are Masterpieces in my mind..
