Backdrop Mapping, how are they made?

Hi,
At the Freqs of Nature Festival i've seen some backdrop mappings. In the brochure from the festival there was even a name but i don't have it anymore. 
Anyway, hwo are they made?
My guess is that you paint the main areas of the pciture and have some filter which changes the color of the backdrop.
Backdrop mapping is when you take a normal backdrop and then use a beamer to make it move.
I'm interessted in some articles, programms, techniques etc. thanks!  |

I thought this was gonna be about the backdrops at Freqs of Nature. They blew my fucking mind! Definitely the closest representation I've EVER seen of acid visuals. Many people said the same thing.
Anyway, the crew is called Psy-pix. You might be better off messaging them and asking them. I'd also love to find out, hehe.
By the way, I have the festival brochure/programme... If you want, I can scan it in and upload it at some point? |

Hmm, no it's okay if Psy-Pix really did it. They just said somwherei n the brochure "Thanks to Mr. X for doing the backdrop mappings"
