How do you back up your tracks with all synth and mixer settings when working with different tracks when not working with pro tools?
I tend to only work with one track at a time and finishing it off before I start working with another track. This is quite annoying and I would love to have explained to me some different ways to approach this...
I use VST, Sid Station, E-MU ESi-32, behringer virtualizer and roland mks-50 and a analogue mixing desk.
(have u noticed shakta & moonweed: micronesia and shakta: earthtise use the same sitar sample)

dont know about the mixer settings, but for your hardware synths,
just do a bulk midi dump into your sequencer.
it will save all your patches and settings into the track as midi data.
then when you go back to the track, just play the midi data
back to the synth and all the settings will be restored.
if ure unsure how to do it, the manuals for each synth should explain
how to do it, or alternatively, im sure there are many sites online that will explain it too.
good luck!
oh, if u wanna do the same thing with the mixer, u'll need a digital mixer.

I've been crying alot I tell you. If I shut down my computer when the emu is still saving the bank, the whole zip disk becomes corrupt. I've learned to avoid doing this though.

do u run vst on mac/pc ?
if mac - there's a lot of firewire based backup hardwares, but they cost much.
u can also use CDs to backup the tracks.
as for MIDI settings - you had the info from giwa -
dump midi settings to your track into midi channels.
how is the sid station ?
ciao,
m.

the sid station is fun and quirky. it can produce really cool leads if you distort them. unfortunately I don't have a noise gate and can't afford one right now (it's has an awful amount of background noise from it's leaking oscillators)
