For the last many years( specially for the few last),I noticed one tendention between the people on trance scene-too speak a lot about styles and which one is good,and which is bad and all hs things.
All music is already devided.Full on,Psy,Proressive,progressive psychedelic,dark full on,morning ..i dont remember what was the one and many more,I tyred to follow this names.Then it is hard and fluffy,commercial and underground,la la la,tra ta ta.
As a kind of veteran on trance scene,and I stay in Goa the seasons for the last 10 years,so it all passed before my eyes,I can say that trance MUSIC always had a shares,but 10 years ago people in Goa,and those who first brought this music outside of India,just loved trance.With pure children love.They were happy of gathering of people with the same concious,happy of new life,new sounds.It was just Goa trance.
Yes,always in Goa was NIGHT music and MORNING music,and it was very important to play the right stuff in the night time.
But ppl stayed together,from the beginning to the end ,and enjoyed all kind of music,because it was just TRANCE.
A bit after appeared-YOU RE TOO FLUFFY and HE IS NOT PSYCHEDELIC groups of party people,and WHAT THE FUCK THIS GUY IS PLAYING group,and AGAIN THIS ISRAELI SOUND people,and CHANGE THIS DJ guys,and tra ta ta.
BUT,GUYS,ITS JUST A MUSIC.
To tell that the track is comercial and melodic,thats why it is not psychedelic,that he track is shit because its too dark,to put left this type of trance,right the other type...hmmm I dont know is it right.
I lay for SPUN records,and I love strong "Full on"...music,but let the musician make the music,djs play it,oragnisers make a parties according to the music which his crowd likes,and the rest - just come and enjoy TRANCE like we did long time ago .

right, sad but true
though trance expantion continues and it brings innovations...and what to do if we really have the styles. But frankly i also don't like this division too much but it's easier for me to chose where and when to go and what to buy since i know what i am expecting for and looking for.
Somewhere it helps, somewhere destroys
like anything in the world...
And through all these years i always said that there is no good/bad trance music. it's all trance. and if child is ugly it doesn't mean you will reject him;) peace and goodluck Xa.Pe

I fully agree with XP... even I have been envolved in the Goa scene for more than 10 years, and have seen all the changes he has... and have been to many of his parties (XP you have not seen me the last 2 years... and you might not even remember, but when I come back this year you will remember.)

Hello
About the idea that trance is trance i donīt agree with it that much but is a think that i will not argue. i just donīt like dark night music thatīs all. But i can stand it with no problem all night because im there to party with friends be with them and talk with them and of course meet new people, at least im there because of the people that share the same ideas (like u said xp) and more or less like the same music, thats why i go to parties 
And of course i can always go only when the sun rises and the melodies are in the air
And about the names that some are giving to the style that some djs play for me itīs just a little diference in taste not in the music at all. when somebody asks me what style is anyone i just say : itīs diferent

how boring it would be for us if everyone had the same style of playing and the same taste in music....as long as you don't disrespect someone elses preferences and try to dictate what they should and shouldn't like why should there be so much disharmony??.....so we're back to basics.....live and let live....and peace ,love and RESPECT!

Yes,agree! But with labels like BNE and Infected Mushroom etc, the trance scene is going down by bringing the commercial factor inside its like pop music without soul,producing and thats it.. make like this cause this selling better make like that cause its the right move,this is what is trance today
Also this is also fault of a djs ,whom playing only friends/lalbel/unreleased music,they dont think about how to make the crowd happy they think how to make their dj carrier. Best time for trance will always remian the virgin times ,of first seasons in GOA and numerous events around the world,some parties stil have this feeling and some djs still spinning cool music,but its not so often

hmmm...your last phrase is also true....
What about a different labels and different directions in Music,I dont mean that it must be one style of music,all organisers bringing same musicians ,etc etc.It will be overbored.As much more different as possible.Very good.Yes
But if I ll speak about parties(big festivals are different maybe)-the organisers must keep the style,so they have their crowd.it can be few groups of people making the parties with the same type of music or only one,but if somebody like paricular type of music(...trance) and really cant stand with other(!!!trance),why he is going anyway on !!!trance parties?
For what?To tell after everybody how shit was the music and tra ta ta.???
Better remain home,and go to listen the music which he like on the next ...TRANCE party.
But there are many people who just love trance,dance,parties,and existing of the people who are sneezing around and complain all the time that they dont like this kind of music,and LETS CHANGE A DJ,,HE IS TOO FLUFFY AND NOT PSYCHEDELIC (or opposite)making a kind of psychologic pressure on the party paople who just want to enjoy.
So,let the musicians make their stuff (any kind),djs play what they play(any kind),organisers bring their profile musicians,and party people choose the events and go to enjoy.Without further coming crytics.
I understand the discussions on WEB forums,many people many opinion,free speech,but the parties are to enjoy.Thats it. |

This is music for enjoy.....for dance.....is the original reason, no????why you go to a party????
 FOR ENJOY, OFF COURSSE

But music is constantly re-inventing itself...
All of Psy trance is only an off shoot of trance, which grew out of techno, which split off from house, which mutated from disco & euro electronic music etc etc
Its only natural thats new scenes develop and split off into new scenes - I think psy/goa trance has done pretty well in more or less keepingas one scene for over 10 yrs...
