u can go to 0,0 db...
--> record it at 0 db or normalize it or use maximizer...
bomski
  experiment !
make it your motto day and night.
experiment,
and it will lead you to the light.
the apple on the top of the tree
is never too high to achieve,
so take an example from eve...
experiment ! |

for digital mastering it is best to put the kick at about - 8 db and start your mix from there.
the all mix should "live" at -4 to -2 db.
that way you leave a space for the engineer to to his job.
B.t.W! never do normalize on your master and if youre using ultramazimizer - leave it as it is, dont drag the treshold down. use it only to avoid cliping.

a billy... man
it sound like u know what u doing
if i was used 2 bounce the mix
with multicomp and a maximizer 4 not clipping
and outputs on 0.0db and i got a good home made
mix 4 playing...
so what u acctuaaly say :
is B4 i'm going to The studio
to make another mix.
2 leave the maximizer (not cliiping)
take out all multicomp etc.
and 2 take the outputs down for -4...-2 dp

only if you got someone to do the mastering..
If you`r planning to play the track at a party and you know your way in compression then compress the master with multiband compressor.
