Heres a very brief review of the album i did for the Uk mag Upfront...

BWicked - Chill Da Funk Out (BNE)

Now this is a surprise… The trance by numbers cover and the title (anyone remember big hair funk rockers Extreme?) led to me to fear the worst, but this is a really good album. Its style is the sort of down tempo eclectic mix that dance groups used to release in the 90s complete with soulful and ragamuffin vocals, guitars and a steady funky groove. You even half expect Shara Nelson or Tricky to pop up! My fave track is probably the Michael Hutchins getting down in an electro disco sound of Truly Remarkable but the whole album hangs together well. So top marks to Berin Katz who is B-Wicked, but I’d strongly suggest a name change!

Excellent album and a very impressive debut!

A must for anyone who likes quality melodic chill-out.
