one way to test if they are damaged:
you can slowly turn the volume up really high, on a clean audio source.
if you hear distortion, like a flap noise on the bass, they are damaged...
i had damage on one when i played mine at max for 6 hours straight. luckily its on warranty and gettin fixed!! |

Does anyone know if there's any risk in leaving active monitors switched on and turning them on and off directly from the power outlet?

when i turn off the power outlet while the monitors are still switched on there is a noise and the membranes are moving strongly. the noise isn't very loud but the rather strong movement of the membranes makes me frightened a littlebit (like very deep bass). i only found out by touching the sides of the membranes today. so i'll use the monitors' switches instead from now on. there's no noise at all then.

Why bother getting them fixed? Your ears are probably too fucked now to tell the difference.
