we are not sure we want have here animated gif.
so we need add some function which will remove all frames and leave only 1 in case animated gif is uploaded.
Also png could be problematic, need to check if all browsers support it nowadays and it also takes time.
Also we plan auto resize and optimization...
However as you see we advance with other more interesting stuff like parties that been just launched and more coming soon. So can't promise when we'll get back to improve avatar system;-)

only browsers from 1995 do not support png
