Automating the change of the cutoff in a VST (cubase)

So... quick question:

I find that while I have a lead rolling, if I open the VST and play with the cutoff I can get a nice hipnotic feeling with it. I see a lot of artists doing to that. Get a nice melodie coming from muddy to screamy and then muddy again

Question is: Is there any way to automate the cutoff values (or any other parameter inside a VST)in a midi track?

Yes. Find which CC controls the cut off in your synth and select that controller in your track, click in the desired automation curve/line. Done.

usualy just click the R and W on the top of the synth and record the changes work for me
then you can right click the channel and see all automations and fix the line if its not good.           www.sattelbattle.com

Press W on the channel as well as on vanguard. Make your automations stop then unclick W & click R. Now when you play it back it will read the automation.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

And once you've done that, goto the track for Vanguard (In the VST Instruments folder) and

Click on the + sign next to Vanguard and then open the menu to the right of the +. You should see a whole list of parametres, with the tweaked ones having a * next to them. You should now be able to see and edit the curves you made with Vanguard.

I presume the same method works for other VSTs too? Like albino3 and stuff...

Any vst that sends MIDI CC#'s from the GUI will work, yes that means Albino 3 as well           ~Airyck~
