Ive recently gotten a demo of this

http://soniccharge.com/microtonic

and the Small version of this

http://www.meldaproduction.com/mdrummer/

And have thrown them into the live set. I cant BEGIN to tell you how cool they sound, and free up brain power that i was formerly spending on sequencing drum patterns. (I still have a drum synth vsti and loops along with the drummer)

They certainly add variety, and give something to riff off of other than my own sequences and loops, the songs that the MDrummer comes with are different styles of drumming than i sequence which is inspiring.

I dont think ill be using either of them in studio tracks, at least as anythign but drum machines, but for live play they are GREAT.

Helps to fill out the sound more, give it variety, and randomness (in the case of microtonic), which I really have tried hard to accomplish with my live setup. Never hear the same sounds twice is my hope.           .
