acidkills, I wasn't seriously suggesting he'd been to a gabber party, I think it'd be hard to confuse that music with psy. That's why the little smiley

Yeah, the vid shows gabber, damn terrible indeed!

But seriously orgytime, can you give the names of some of these producers? I don't know of any decent psy (or darkpsy if you feel better about that term) artists doing tracks at those bpm's.

This is the case in the U.S. as well, but there are many people who strongly desire melodic psychedelic music as well and the ones that do REALLY appreciate it when they hear something really good.

I can get into night time stuff as long as there is a good variety of styles and bpm's and not full on all the time.

Just look for shows that have at least a few artists you like and look forward to their sets, otherwise enjoy the company of the great people around you.           ~Airyck~

thx guys, you helped me alot to get a little picture of the psy-scene... so next time ill check the artists on myspace.
overall i just dont like this fast beats because i dont get any feeling out of it just "death"...
and yeah i listen to death-metal too^^
i can hear the "dark" goa for some time without freeking out, but at some point i just want to hear the salvation (notechange+melody).

i just wondered about it because i saw big coming out from 145bpm-150 artists with melodys (azax syndrom)... so i thought aha, a little bit hard, but sounds cool, so that is what ppl like at this time^^
and the last soft astrix album isn´t that long time ago... soo..

i just hope that melodies never die, but they wont, like your feelings!

cheers+thx

is a difference in opinion whats good psy and whats not.
I tend to find the full-on and lighter psy trance boring and predictable.
When i'm listening to something psychedelic it should send a shiver down my spine and give me a psychedelic feeling.
Cool sounds are not enough, and full on lacks complexity for me.

Azax hard?,come on

And on the gabber point,if u cant hear the difference between for example Furious and let me see,Angerfist u probably need an earcheck, completely different structures

I tend to see some of the harder stuff as a more evolving style than the others and much more trippy

Hehe, how fast can it go..
Well, that speed-north core whatever, could be good music if there werent those cheesy leads.. How awfull, I mean even italo disco isnt that cheesy.. I really dont dig people who create such melodies and masses who suck them.. But it could be of great use in concentration camps, prisons and such for torturing people.. Like Americans used music in war..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

Hi guys, i live in Innsbruck,Austria,Europe.

I went to my first real Psy-Party on 31.12.2008 in the Olympic-Halle (they said its the best Psy-Party of the year here).

The music was always about 160-170bpm the whole night long, and i heard from people that the producers here only like this dark, fast stuff.

but, i listen to popular things like Eskimo, Astrix, Vibe Tribe, GMS... and those are all about 145bpm.

its such a huge step from 145bpm to 160bpm, i cant take...
i mean, its like you listening to metal, and then going to a death-metal party.

is this a trend on the whole world, or just here, that psytrance is going to be dark and fast?

ppl will hate me here, if i just change my bassnote harmonical once and put 3 different synth notes together in a track (>**)>

cheers

you only have to come to east austria to parties..there you will find music u like!!           http://www.facebook.com/djkajola

freeflow that video is hilarious... i haven't seen so many more combat wearing air punching meathead gurners since the Kazantip festival mind you there was not much gabber there mostly 'electro progressive minimal deep tech tribal house' bollocks - oh what joy that was... and here is more of the same from youknowwho

what is the next step for darkpsy? more bpms? more noise? more silly producer names? i must admit that demonoise and necropsycho get my vote for the best cliché token darkpsy name.

it has become a glorified metronome.

Hmm I am a dark psy lover but dont generally like fast stuff (with some exceptions), I feel that 148-154 bpm is generally the best for dark psy. But just my opinion of course and no, I won't be "defending" dark psy hehe that is just silly, it's just a personal preference Without light there is no dark and without dark there is no light blah blah blah we all coexist together and make up one whole D

As for Necropsycho, I can't really blame you for thinking his name is cliche hehe but the guy really makes awesome night music, quite innovative and groovy, dark and intelligent at the same time Also it's Demonizz, not Demonoise so that takes care of that cliche for you

heheh yeah the people in innsbruck love it a little bit harder but its still a pitty that many organicers here changed the music direction... now all stick to dark and thats definetly toooo much, specially because there is a lack of quality!
seems like people think, its cooler now to make dark parties and see it just as competition of who will be the hardest & most satanic!
i love nighttime psy but dont like most of this parties.....           }-->MaLiCe in WoNdErLaNd<--{

i hate the "New" dark thingy. it sounds stressed and the bass losses the feeling but thats jusst my opinion , i prodd some wicked music but i dont go over the 148bpm limit.

some people asked about artist i think the Artist Rawar use the 160-170bpm limit and it sounds jusst way to Funny / Nooby to me but it can be that iv been listening to GoA Trance and up to this new age splittered psytrance genres. i like it experimental but not up to 160-170bpm .

Hate me or you love me ;P.
