hi all. i was just wondering if there are any psytrance tracks that contain original sounds of the northern lights. i've recently heard such sounds of this physical phenomenon in the internet and i was really astonished!!! the sounds were so eerie and outworldly that would make an unbelievable constituent of a psy-track. so have such tunes ever been used in psy trance? if so, where. Share your knowledge or just your opinion about it...

As for psytrance related stuff, nothing springs to mind, sorry.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Well I've seen them tens if not hundreds of times.. but I sure as hell have never heard any sounds coming off them..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

Well there are not sounds coming off of them, its radio emission comings off them.

Quote:

All Natural Radio recordings were recorded by Stephen P. McGreevy using the McGreevy WR-4B E-Field VLF receiver and 10' (3 meter) vertical antenna. Tape recorder used was a Marantz PMD 212. Files were converted to .WAV files using a SoundBlaster 16 card and Wave 'OLE or WaveEditor. The following files were recorded at 8 bit, 11 kHz sampling rate. (The antenna and front-end circuit of the WR-4B whistler receiver was temporarily attached to my van via bungee cord) and the control box sits next to beds in back.

Natural Radio emissions such as these occur in the 0.1 to 11 kHz radio spectrum--essentially, they are audio-frequency radio waves! This is just a small variety of fascinating "sounds" to be received at these ELF/VLF frequencies. You must be located at least 1 to 2 miles from any power-lines so their "hum" is not received. This is why I like to listen in the NV high-desert and Great Basin Area--plenty of open spaces!

i know that it's very rare to actually listen a phenomenon happening thousands of metres away of earth's surface but with the help of technology we can decode and listen to the real tunes of "the lights".

i still believe that it's a fantastic opportunity for someone to incorporate such tunes into psytrance music. it'll be like aliens coming to earth

... and yes, imagine a psy trance party under such a sky!!! pure magic

Ozric Tentacles - Aura Borealis sounds the way the northern lights look if that's any help.

Yeah, but that's not psytrance           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Strange sounds indeed...
Make me think about birds and frogs in the jungle...
Maybe it's possible to use as intro... but there is not much of a beat....

i think the idea would be to mix with the northern lights sound tris.

Anyway, i live in tromsų norway, and i have to say that the only two problems with a party under the northern lights are 1) the cold, and 2) the snow that usually comes with the cold.

Me & my sworn psybrethren usually have the music on real loud from inside the house, and dance under the lights & stars on my balcony:)

oh yea, the lights are nice, but they become complete when they team up with those enormously beautiful mountains we have up here. man, how neat! im very impressed by the whole situation, as i have not been living here for so many years.

oh...and we have the worlds strongest psilocybe-semiwhatever, you know, liberty caps up here, though i do not wish to give the impression that i neither advocate nor condemn the use of such ILLEGAL substances which grow naturally and can make your life swee-eet for a short-but-seems-so-long period of time, i`m just saying you know...touristic info...they grow here...powerful little buggers.

so yea, peace & love and that stuff...ive totally lost my thread.

Dude! you're so lucky to live there and enjoy a spectacle like this. Now i'm jealous the lights are so psychedelic and in compination with loud psytrance from your house... it must be a totally mindblowing experience           human mind is a parachute. It works when it is open...

it is man...it is. and i do consider myself lucky.

...but as i am, like you, trapped in a human body, one grows used to the lights, as one grows used to all events of life & universe. grows, as in the human brain grows new neural connections to make it normal so that one does not pay attention to it, to divert (sorry my bad spelling if it sucks) attention to the other parts of life, eg. reproduction & the likes, which, i bet you have realized, one never grows tired of:)

here these fungi-nature-beauties come in, as they, i bet you have realized, let us, for a brief period of time, experience the beauty of nature\god\whatever uncontaminated.

peace & respect my brothers & sisters.

Oh man. We should arrange a big ass psytrance festival outdoor in the wintertime with heatlamps all around in the mountains. hehe. Invite the biggest names. That would be cool! Unpractical though. No one would care to come up here to dance, right? Oslo is hot in summertime, cold in wintertime. Don`t know about tromsų though...
