I thought I was imagening it when I thought my bassline sounded different every other measure.
So I put an Analyzer over it, and it did actually show that on every other measure it did play at a different velocity.
And therefore didn't sound as tight as I wanted it to sound.
What is this all about? |

Same thing happened to me with ABL, the only solution i found was to record it and use the "stable" part of the bassline as .wav.
Have't tried ABL pro though or ABL2, it might be fixed.

I'm pretty sure this is on purpose, since the aim is to emulate an analog synth which is never stable.

I tried doing a bassline with that synth a long time ago and it was just all over the place. I spoke to the author of the synth and he said it wasn't meant for fast triggering. :-|
It also reports the wrong BPM speed and doesn't sync properly. Instead of reading the BPM speed from the host application, it tries and calculate it itself. If calculates a BPM of 139.999 it will round it off to 139 BPM. DUH!
I told the coder he should at the very least round up properly to 140 BPM. He said his method was right and that I was wrong. He didn't want to acknowledge any flaws in his design or coding. Lame!
So I never used it since... (And didn't buy it. It was the demo).
subconsciousmind,
My analogue synths are alot tighter than that VST and if you use the patterns, it is stable so it certainly isn't intentional. I call it crappy coding. No excuses.

Well it is ABL2 I use.
It's a shame though because its sound is very nice. |
