I just got Audiorealism Bassline Pro.
And I have to say, I'm quite impressed!
This semi-modular synth is amazing, and produces some real fat basslines.

On top of that, it's also great for some weird FX.

Agree on that
good for leads too
but you must export bass notes to WAV if u want good results, its doesnt have the retrigger option so the notes when playing form midi are not the same in each time

too complicated for a bass synth... but looks nice for leads, have to try it
trilogy is the ultimate bass machine imo

It sucks, so export it and do the same as trilogy or cronox do.
Use it as a sampler! Why do you need using the midi itself? just save the presets

I've been getting some good results with Bassline 1.5 for acid lines, I think Pro looks nice but yes it appears the best option will be to reconstruct the sampled notes in a Reaktor sequencer or other sampler for consistent waveforms.

Some VSTi oscillators can retrigger on each MIDI note, recently I read that Pentagon is one and there are a few others....

I think this guy is selling for about $185 US. Clearly it can do a lot more than just basslines, you may find more uses for it as lead and backing acid lines since the filter quality is so good.           ELECTRON EYES / MARK-EVAN (NOR. CAL)

Doesn't suck too bad to mixdown bass into audio. Also happens when using older analogue synths, since they mistime, are floppy and pitch drift at times; so best to record long bit of audio, and cut out the best tightest bit, and copy that bit for bassline.

Good bassline is worth some effort

The random drifting in the bass tends to make it less punchy and driving, which is a no-no. You can apply controlled variation in the bass samples by using a few samples of the same note that work well together and with cutoff and resonance, for example.

On second reading, it seems to me that some ppl are talking about basslines while other are talking about basses. Bassline is the medium to high pitched lead sound named after TB303 and bass is the low one that goes with the kick.
