Audiophile 2496 - eveything's HiFi?

Hi there.
Didn't find any thread that really brought up my problem. A few days ago, I just lost all bass on my soundcard. I can't even hear the kicks in tracks!
And it's not just in the sequencer, this goes for all audio on my computer. Everything's played in HiFi sort of. Doesn't matter wether it's Winamp, Windows Media player or whatever. It's all HiFi.
I've reinstalled the drivers (removed'em first, and then installed the new ones, date 1st october,2004) and this didn't fix the problem.
Does anyone have any idea how I might fix this?

Loose cables maybe? Sometimes it messes up the bass with phase issues.

Weird... I checked it out, and there were no cables loose. They were connected as they should be. But then, I just twisted them a bit, and suddently as magic, my problem was solved.
Strange, since all cables are new. Maybe the output ports on my 2496 has been worn out sort of. 
Well anyhow, it works now. Thanks for your quick reply Mike, the days' saviour of my mood.  |

scobbah if u are using the audiophile chek the control panel on the sound card , then chek the option bass management , and chek is u have cross over freq cuted below 80hz eheh first time i conected with nw driver that happen to me , chek that then say something
