hi there
i´m about to buy a new sound card, and don´t know which one of these two should i buy.
can anyone tell me if besides zero latency that both of them have if the audiophile 1814 also has a DSP processor, and if it does which one is more efficient, the one in RME soundcard or the one in Audiophile?

thanxs in advance

i was lookin for a sound card with a DSP processor cause i get to 3 minutes of my tracks and my computer is already crashing and i need to start exporting midis to waves in order to free the cpu.
also thinkin in future with the aquiring of new hardware maybe, and also tryin to get a sound card that i can use both on pci and labtop

Then these cards wont help you. They dont free up your CPU. The tiny amount of DSP they have is used for mixing and other stuff that i dont know dick about.
Cards like Powercore and UAD-1 will help you, but they only run their own plugins. I think you should upgrade your computer.

The RME card is great if you want more inputs and outputs and superb converters but not for freeing up cpu.

Exactly what i was asking for, because M-Audio does tiny DSP cards and firewire isn't the best option to free CPU. You need PCi card like one AvS told you.

Tc Electronics is great card for your needs and cost much much less. Money you would spend on RME card you can buy DSP card and cheap M-Audio for audio processing which is the greatest option for you.
