Scorb aka Yod Onsen is back with his much anticipated second album; "Ipso Fvcto", to be released on new label Trick (www.trickmusic.com) this spring. The culmination of over a years work, this second album re-unites the contrasting elements of uk electronica and pushes them into new realms. Considered to be one of the most consistent and original artists on the scene, he has taken his live set all over the globe to great response; including Australia, Germany, Austria, Greece, Cyprus, Switzerland, France, Sweden, Belgium, Canada, Japan, USA, Portugal and of course the UK. After releasing on many top international labels and being a a creative force (musically and as a graphic designer) behind labels such as ambivalent, Fragile Planet and Last Possible Solution, he is proud to announce the launch of trick music with longtime collaborator Mike Rucinski (Orzels Machine). This spring also sees the release of the second RAM album: Killerbites, a side project with Paul Wright of NRS (label manager of Last Possible Solution).
Chromatone is Lawrence Hoffman, a San Francisco native who has been producing electronic music for over a decade. Working as a professional audio consultant, producer, engineer, he is also doing mastering for many labels: Vaporvent, Peak Rec, Geomagnetic.tv, Mind Funk, Noise Poison, Drop Out, plus a growing list of clients. After training in visual arts with the legendary Doctor Spook they produced the Video: Chromatone - Mightochondria released on the successful Geomagnetic Magnus and Virtual Vortex DVDs. As VJ Dr. Hoffman he has done projected visuals at several events.
A local favorite in San Francisco, Chromatone has blasted at countless parties in the U.S. and Mexico with other top shelf international acts. At Burning Man Festivals 2003 and 2005 Chromatone performed unprecedented live sets in true 8-channel surround sound. In 2004 Chromatone played the huge Zoom Festival in Zurich and at the Boom Festival in Portugal, with Crazy Lions Cult (Neuromotor vs. Hyper Frequencies), then the Full Moon 2005. Now in 2006 he is ready to set off for a 6 month tour in Europe.
After releasing four trax on King Records Japan, Lawrence compiled the CD Vaporize for his own label Vapor Vent. Then working in France with Mechanik records to produce, mix, and master the double comp, Mechanik Castle. Back in San Francisco, many collaborations with his studio partner Random produced releases including trax on Spun, Acidance, and Time Code records. Now he is busy with his current projects: Vaporize 2, for Vaporvent & his personal debut album Chroma Connection to be releases soon after that and bound to put the psy-trance world upside down. Next to that he is experimenting with his psy breaks project Morphonix and also working on an album on Vaporvent in 2006.
Through deeply spiritual and emotional connections to his music and an intrinsic understanding of audio manipulation, Chromatone has become one of the most powerful emerging voices in psy-trance today. as u said. Perfect couple. Scorb did awsome sound, no "full on" breaks every minute, just pure powerfull psychedelic driving thru his galaxy, hehe.. And than followed Lawrence aka Chromatone, he couldt do better(as usuall). I thought like this last year when he first time stopped in our little town. Now he played 4th time since that time before our crowd, and ich time he freaked us with something totaly awsome. That makes him really good artist.
