Texmex - Ive found source code for an oscillator implementing fm. seems that its accomplished by modifying the playback position in a sample table by the fm amount ( moving phase by fm amount ) & looking up the sample 2 play. (speeding up & slowing down the frequency effectively )
This implies that in this implementation u need knowledge of the waveform. i.e. look ahead.
