So lets say im workin on a track where i was looking to create a break that sounds like its been squeezed as narrow in towards the centre as possible, in terms of audio width.
How would i go about this. Ill try to send a link with a similar idea used by Infected Mushroom on one of their Supervisor tracks.

from what you are saying I am guessing you are talking about an EQ or filter effect, popular in breaks thesedays
experiment with some EQ settings (notch) or a high pass filter, and sweep from left to right. you will see the bass disappear and a thinning (narrowing) effect
sorry if this is not what you are talking about

split the stereo-track into 2 mono tracks (left and right)... Panning in the middle on both mono tracks and it will sound like the stereo track. Play with the panning of those mono tracks and you can squeeze or expand with little effort. |
