Hiya all,
im having a problem with timing issues when i record audio into wavelab, basically, what i record in doesn't sync up with exported wavs, the BPM is the same, only the audio i record seems to drift slightly as the track progresses, this invariably causes timing issues with the other exported audio(from reason)
ive looked in the Audio card preferences in Wavelab and there some buffer parameters (Buffer number and buffer size) does anyone know if by adjusting these, i should be able to sort out these timing issuses?
at present they are set to..... buffer number 6
buffer size 16384
thanx for any feedback )

You mean ,,, one track is @ 122 bpm (reason) & the other (wavelab) is not the same bpm , like 122.034 ? or more ?
Check the sample frequency , when you read a 48 khz a file into a session @ 44.1 khz , the sample/audio file is pitched down.

Hiya MARGHERITA ,
not exactly , Both are meant to be @ 140 bpm, its when i record the audio signal from my hardware into my computer that the drifting of time occurs , its seems that when theres more data its slows slightly and when theres less going on it returns to normal, as if the sound card cannot cope with the real time catching of data...im using an Akai MPC 2000xl to sequence external hardware that im trying to capture as Audio |

Yep,,,
so the 140bpm speed from the akay MPC2000xl is not the same to the 140bpm speed into Reason soft, they dont have the same "time machine" calculator,,
you need make a syncro whit MIDI TIME CODE (MTC) & maybe the MMC (midi machine control) into your MPC.
I know the MPC 2000 , is very easy to make a syncro in MTC or MMC.
Try via cubase SX . (i dont know Wavelab)
SX master (MTC) to MPC slave (MTC),, put the right speed into the cubase (140) & record the MPC tracks into cubase.
Dont use MIDI CLOCK syncro , the trick not work.

Sorry i forgot something.,,
you need also make a rewire chanel for reason & record also everything from reason to cubase (or something), im not sure , but maybe you have also not the same time machine from cubase bewten reason. Usual they work whit the same calculator (your PC) , but who knows.

Alreety guys!
thanks for all the advice, i think that things are sorted now.
good ol MMC and midi clock send (from cubase) to midi clock in and and receive MMC on (in MPC)
the Audio(from MPC) is sounding locked in with the exported reason Wavs
Happy days!!
Many Thanks and be mad lucky
