my question: when creating a new tune, which parts you have in audio/midi and when do you sart bouncing your midi tracks to audio?
hope you understand what i mean...
i love working in audio and i don't like samples very much. so i synthesize almost everything and at a certain point i bounce it to audio.
when keeping all the synths with automations, sends and returns till the end i struggle with a f***in' mess. when switching to audio quite early i have a nice order and workflow but always want to fix some elements i've already bounced. and this is getting worse when i start changing some parts cause they won't fit together anymore.
i know that there are different possibilities and i have to find out which way works best for me. but i'm quite curious if you ppl. have the same problems and how you manage this audio/midi stuff.
just one thing. it's not about cpu and stuff (i know freeze-function). i simply hate having hundrets of (automated) tracks and faders and i also hate fixing stuff with plugs i could have done better before.
thanks for your inputs in advance |

Bounce at will, keep the VST tracks you've just bounced freezed and muted (may be in a folder track or just beside the bounced audio channel), then it will not consume resources and you'll be able to unfreeze and fix at any time
  YEEEEES! |

As soon as I've written a MIDI part, I bounce it vanilla, then use effects and processes on the bounced audio and once happy with that, bounce it again. |

Cutting up samples ftw. In one of my projects me and my partner created an anthemic lead from a cut up pad that had dfx buffer override automation on it. This pad itself was made by reversing and stretching another lead. |

I have a question that leaves me alone till now.I hope its not too much offtopic.I am rather beginner when it comes to psytrance production.I reached a point of trakcs were bouncing is a solution to get more I think.I made some 'experiments' that are not really satisfying me.I think the quality or lemme say the sound from the bounced material is not identical to the midi source...Is it possilbe when all inserts sends etc were recorded? ..I mean when comparing its sounds not that fat as in 'original'-vst instruments source..I looked up by search with "how to bounce" and came here..if its too offtopic please delete.Basicaly question is,is that normal that the qualy is not exactly identical? |

inserts are not sends ... two different things.
insert FX should get bounced with the track,
but send FX only when you bounce the target channel
and you still can EQ or raise the volume.

well I know that inserts and sends are too different ways of effecting.I wanted to know if the material sounds the same by bouncing. No matter what sort of effecting ,or even if you bounce purely without anything else (or when you set your effects off)than the original source.Just if the material sounds identical or not-completely no matter which way.But thanks anywayz |

It should sound exactly the same after bouncing.
