while you re talking about sae, I just wanted to mention that sae oxford will open end of the year

it will be like a degree center, and also the first sae where you can do a "sae tonmeister" course...           https://soundcloud.com/hazak

Expressions College in Emeryville, California... It's not Sae but they do teach a lot of stuff, plus it's fully accredited.

my opinion save urself the cash and buy the machines and learn hands on, books and this forum
I think the diploma is worth shit it all comes down to how good u are not what school u went to this is music not brain surgery, my opinion... i guess i feel school is only worth it once you have things more down packed then u go to polish up and learn new things u probably didnt know, but going without knowledge sucks too much to learn in so lil time kinda like the courses at fullsail 1 year with a crazy never the same schedule, how are u suppose to learn and grasp all that info plain bullshit sorry guys i think school is bullshit only worth it to expand a mind thats been feed some knowledge already

it means a legitimate degree like a bachelor's degree... And to be honest I agree that you can learn more going it on your own, but these schools teach you the way that major people in the industry expect things done. You wouldn't spend that much money on this if you're expecting to make music at home. But if you actually want a well paying job in the field, you need some sort of degree.

As for too much to learn... I said that about writing trance music, but in time and practice, you learn it step by step. No different than a school. It's just about how you process your knowledge. But also these schools aren't as much for writing music as it is for other related fields that would require your skill. eventually when I can afford it, I'd like to go to expressions to learn foley and sound design for films, as well as film scoring... But to also learn how to record bands, mastering, how to set up a studio, all this stuff that could mean me working in a pro end studio dealing with music I'm not passionate about, but can use that studio in my free time to make more of my own style stuff... what's wrong with that? And to get into a situation like that you either need your own hi end studio, or you need a certain piece of paper that says you know your shit.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
