My audio editor is sound forge 6!
Do you think there are better editors or maybe more
proffesional or easier to use?

What about wavelab, or editing in Cubase after
the recordings?

I use Bias "Peak" for all audio edits and
it supports VST'z for my mastering needs .

There ain't anything as good as Sound Forge.
I use 4.5 for some years now and don't feel any need to switch to something else.
BTW Wavelab AFAIK is more useful for the final edit of the track, for the mastering.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

For mastering I have "T-Racks 24Bit" - Great software!!!
Sound forge 6 is all you need for the audio
editing and it works great with DirectX plug-ins!

OK,

Soundforge is a great tool for editing the little parts and small glitches of single samples or constructed loops. All those proccess functions are useful.

Wavelab is the best Final editing/Mastering - Deithering 24->16bit workstation for me as well as a CD production studio with the Montage option.
Wavelab is also great for recording, live fx testing and playing around, live input monitoring.

I use them both - these progs have individual goals.

or Wavelab + Direct X AND VST plugins
in REAL TIME, with up to 6 plugs at once.

that said tho, nothing beats soundforge's pitch shift/bend and time stretching functions.

use em both!
