Somehow I stumbled onto these releases, I think when I was searching for a digital version of Cygna's Opus Ena. Anyway, there are two EPs so far, titled - somewhat imaginatively - Volume 1 and Volume 2.

The first volume has four tracks and seems to me to be pretty good, featuring Open System, Cygna and Asura, and some other artist I haven't come across before. The Open System track is quite a sublime ambient affair with a lovely child's voice appearing here and there - very endearing.

The second volume has some more delicate tunes that meander along in a beautiful way. Bob T Racker has a track on here, which he mentioned in his thread earlier in the week - and it's a great track. The rest of the tracks a great too - all of them quite subdued. It's definitely great to hear a new Nalepa track. This is my favourite of the two volumes, based on the samples. The full tracks can be streamed on Soundcould (gotta love that!).

Here's the tracklists:

Volume 1:

1. Open System - Inner Sense 4.50
2. Cygna - Kuintaar 7.48
3. Sattyananda - Sonic Dreams 7.28
4. Asura - Volte Face 7.48

Violume 2:

1. Bob Tracker - 17 Grand Way 7.44
2. Solima - Lifetime 8.25
3. Nalepa - Snowflakes 5.59
4. Lucid Picnic - Saturn Effect 7.13
5. Grains Of Sound - Way In, Way Out 7.43

Unfortunately, and it is a big drawback, they seem to be only available on Beatport. So I haven't bought them yet as it ends up being US$2.50 per track (lossless). Volume 2 is still on Beatport Exclusive, so it ends up being US$17.45 for 5 tracks. Hopefully the label will include JunoDownload or another lossless retailer, however they have not responded to my message asking if they intend to do this at some stage.

But on the upside, it is all great music! Definitely worth streaming on soundcloud and having a listen.

(please forgive the beatport rant, or ignore as deemed appropriate - i know i am akin to a broken record on this matter).
