read thru my posts again , i never said all the music he plays is bad , "for the most part"/"vast majority of his selection" etc .. wonder why this album never made it here http://www.goagil.com/chart.html along with a whole host of sanaton etc , but now im being anal about whats good or not , still .. gil sucks , as dj , as producer , and iv heard a lot of not so flattering stories about the man but no point going there , lets stick to this topics musics .. atriohm

fuk now u got me started on gil again .. so .. :trollspamtime: i gots theory about why so many good ones never make it to his tops for the past many years now .. i think the good labels no longer send him unreleased stuff anymore coz they realize he`s a shit dj etc , and so his cosmic ego wont let the non left testicle sucker crews stuff in his tops , still , pure conjecture , speculation and flaming on my part .. disclosure , maybe some big label owners can comment , but they wont .. eheh , fuck goa gil and his fan boyz

What's wrong with wobbling then?
It's pretty much the only way I know how to dance. That's all I do: sway, wobble and tap polyrhythms on my stomach, fluff my tail occasionally.

So what's the fascination with the "DARK" psy thing anyway. Why does everybody wanna make sure everybody else knows WHO's "Dark" what constitutes "dark" etc etc etc. It's getting kind of old...dont get me wrong Atriohm rocks ass, but this darkpsy thing is cold.
NOBODY writes dark music in the trance world. It's either good night music, or SHITTY night music. end of story.

I had an awesome session with atriohm at Boom 2008. I'm not exactly what you'd call in shape... or a great dancer probably. But I can say that I actually don't give a fuck so yeah...
I'd say that's definately a matter of opinion 
Is that extra 5-10bpm REALLY such a stretch?

Black Hole Surfing music. Fast, Heady, Atmospheric trance. I also refer to the ambient as Slambient so i don't really try and label the whole "dark" thing too much. Sure it's challenging, as is the trance, but i wouldn't consider it dark. The intentions in all of everything i've written and am writing is all super positive.

Off course it is...play a 140 tune at 150 BPM and everything is so much different. Obviously a 140 tune has stuff in it that was written for such tempo. So 150BPM tunes have their own syle of writting...BUT the space and vibe of the music changes an awful lot...obviously 10BPM have less of an effect from say 170BPM to 180BPM, but that is already stupid tempo territory and ihmo them tempos have nothing to do with psychedelia, they have a lot mroe to do with constant stress and manic stupidity...obviously the same does not apply to drum'n'bass, where the vibe is actually a half beat, in stead of a 4/4 kick. Does apply to gabba though, that shit is manic!

Exactly what I was trying to show. 
It’s very funny to see darkpsy producers trying very hard to disassociate themselves from anything “dark”. First Ocelot, now you. What is “Black Hole Surfing Music” if not a branch of “psycore”? Psy Schranz, basically. It’s original and interesting, as it relies more on mangled samples and less on flying tzwick-tzwack. But it’s still a subset of machine-gun darkpsy.
Slambient can go either way, but at least some of it is dark ambient (“Love and War”, for example, is “nightmarebient”). I understand your need to distinguish your work from the "mainstream" dark ambient, a derivative of depressive black metal. But it’s still a similar idea. Well, like I said – at least it can go either way in terms of mood. Slambient it is then.

When I hear sounds of a happy playground superimposed on machine-gun fire (real, not just a fast kick) with a backdrop of foreboding doombient pads, “super-positive” is not the first thing that comes to my mind.

This is why you always see people swaying like zombies when this music is playing. It is too fast to dance to.

you probably dont have enough space to dance, their bpms are fine, all under 150, maybe its the layers of sounds someone cant follow.
