So, I am wondering....

How is Atmos as a DJ (not live)? Is he a good DJ, or is he one of those guys that should stick in the studio or to live sets?

I will see him play a DJ set at Lovefield this weekend for sunrise, but I am only familiar with the songs he has produced as Atmos. Does he play mostly that style in his DJ sets, or is it more like his mixed CD that came out on Phonokol several months ago (more progressive house)? Can he mix at all, or is he more of a fading/DAT DJ?

Thanks for any answers.

you can listen to the most wanted CD mixed by atmos, though it's not one of my personal Favs.. good mixing skills there, though           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

Dave he is a great DJ, one of the best IMO. He does some very intresting mixes between Progressive House and Progressive Trance. Right down your alley I think.
Have fun.           Both teams played hard

Yeah, that sounds great. I think those two styles compliment each other very well and will be fantastic in the morning. I am also glad to hear he has good mixing skills. IMO, both progressive house & trance can be boring if mixed badly, but with a good mixing DJ (and a top sound system) it is wonderful to hear.

So Apocalypse, when are you going to come visit us? We are getting settled and will be ready for guests in a couple months.

Heh...but I am continuously amazed by the number of DJs that spin CDs or vinyls as though they were DATs.

Glad to hear that Atmos is not one of those guys. I am definitely now really looking forward to his set....

Yep, Atmos was as good as described...even better. Perfectly mixed, smooth, deep morning music that kept us dancing several hours longer than we thought we could.

What are these other projects of his you speak of, clox? I am only familiar with his songs as Atmos (and one as Unknown Controllers or something like that), but they sound nothing like the style he played during his set.

I have a CD called atmos/echo-lab - overlap where the "echo-lab" tracks are by Tomasz Balicki (atmos) and Henrik Jonnson. It seams like min/prog trance. It's quite pleasing to me when I'm feeling mellow.

I've never witnessed an atmos live or Tomasz dj set, but I tell you I'm really looking forward to it next month at "Utage", also featuring Son Kite, which I'm equally excited about!

It is the first track on Flying Rhino's 6th Flight compilation. It is a collaboration between Atmos and somebody else I forget. Very smooth track with a similar feel to other Atmos music, but much more atmospheric and mellow.

Son Kite and Atmos at the same party....I am jealous.

dude , if u have these compilations : "Tales From The Forest" ; "Musica Psychedelica Scandinavica" released for Spirit Zone ; BTM ... so just check the artists inside , and you will see that there is maybe three or four projects of Thomas ... i just cannot remember which are the right projects , but if u need to listen them go to the label's sites and check for yourself ... Boom           ... no way out in the blue ... follow the guy upstairs !
