I dont wanna diss in the promo thread but...they suck
Like everything Atmos related I bought blindly, also because the original tracks are brilliant, but the RMXs were both shallow, boring and unoriginal, particularly "To what my mind attend". That`s an outright atrocity. But Karl Johan fucked that one up as well, even though not quite as much.
On the suckage scale the Neelix "ToWhatMyMindAttend" RMX sucks a blue whale cock , the Karl Johann RMX oft that track sux an elephant cock, and the Neelix RMX of "Ride the Flow" sucks a hippos cock. If you know what I mean
Actually, from all those remixes (including the other EP), the only one I really like is Tomics version of 46Daz, that one is great. SBK is enojoyable, I guess, but not more than that.
Anyways, enough talk of suckage, Spiral Trax is and always will be awesome

Aje you are killing me with your reviews
Please bring back the hilarious farting sessions....
I never heard the tunes btw, but want to say something knowing Atmos style and as one that remixed his music before. Thomasz music sounds very simple, and seems easy to remix, but it is very much not correct. Atmos music is VERY HARD to remix properly, exactly because of it's relative simplicity. His special style accumulates feelings in a very "Atmos" way, and quite impossible to recreate that.. Without this special attention, usually the tune will feel empty and boring. This is why remixing him is very very hard. At least for me it took ages to finish the remix I did for him.

I seriously hope for my sanity and the genetic health of my future children that I never have to endure such horrors again...but if I have to I will make sure to tell you all about it in all its gory detail
BTW, I interesting point you make on remixing Atmos, makes a lot of sense. There havent been many good ones over the years. The best Atmos remix is definitely Haldoliums mix of "The Only Process" wayyyyyy back, that one just added a new layer of agresivity and menacing vibes to the happy original and made it into a complete beast of track. And yours was cool, too, but as far as I can remember you didnt leave too much of the original, hehe...

yeah well.. if i was neelix i would have done some other things with the remixes. I seriously dont get why he left out the awesome vocal samples in "Ride the flow"
but i like "to what my mind attend".. and the same goes for the karl johan remix.. that one i really like.
but as yuli says, its not just anyone, and it is hard to remix an atmos track!!! |
