So many compressors?

Many ??? hehe..Wait too see the full track! There are lots of compresors, eq's, choruses, flangers and any kind of FX. Sometime i use also a vocoder (Orange Vocoder) on percutions channels to set the drums in the same "gamma" with the music. This is very important because in music, even drums are set on musical notes, so when you build a song practicaly you have to build 2 songs in the same time - one is the drum part and the other one with the Bass, harmony and solo. This 2 songs must fit together perfectly to have a good, and musicaly corectly track in the end.
I will try to upload later another arhive with tricks for leads, sound effects,pads...
Sorry for my english !

i realy not sure perccusion and drums should be "tuned". its not like that in most music. (some percussion sets have nore harmonics but i dont think any drummer tune his snare each song..?? )
i think if it sounds good then its good. www.sattelbattle.com

Well, depends on what you understand by tunning.
I spend 10 years playing jazz and clasical music, and i can ashure you, every drum sound is set on portative, but of course the way fo arrangement and tuning it's not the same with the musical part. And btw. profi drummers who really studied percutions on schools or conservatory are tunning the drums.
Haven't seen one playing drums with the "factory tunings" ...everyone is tunning them for what they need or the style they play.
I know that tuning drums is not very used for trance music, but this because most of the trance producers are not pro musicians and have no musical studies. |

hey ATMA , could u please describe how do u set individual channel vol. knobs and then after assigning them to fader tracks , how do u adjust fader volumes ...bcoz fruity has a very different gain structure from cubase ......
so is it basically frm the ears ? or u follow some kinda method ? ..... looking forward to your reply ...
respect .. chandan ! |

yes..the Chanell vol. knobs are a big problem in Fruity. Unfortunately there is no possibility to make previews or comparations between settings. Sometimes i have problems also with Undo. If i move a knob, there is no possibility to undo the movement.
Ussualy i start working with the volume knobs from the Sampler or VST Synth. When track it is almost finished and i start to do the mastering, i make volume, pan, adjustments from the Mixer Section faders.
Sometimes i also make small adjustments from the Sampler or Vst Synth\Misc\Level Adjustments - i use this specially for "drums", because sometimes i need to do little changes and there is a risk to destroy the whole track if i move the fader from Mixer Section.
Anyway, good ears are the most important thing, but it is ok if in time you start to have your own methods of working, or your own setings. But for this, you'll need many years of work !!
