Yes this song is RAD! I love it! Made me dance in my chair! The basslines and melodies fit perfectly. I really want to know how you made the bassline so punchy like that. It's what I am trying to learn. Did you use hardware? Yeah man allot of energy in this track, I would spin it live in my sets for sure. Good job! |

Tnx a lot ! I'm glad you like this track !! I am shure you will like much more the other tracks from my upcomeing album. This is not one of the best. That's why i am asking oppinions about this one. I wasn't shure about the quallity
The track was made in Fl Studio 5.
The bassline is Vb-1 (settings: everything in Zero, except: Shape=2, Damper = 20) and i use on it:
1) eq ( -2,5 db below 200 hz, -18 db everything higher than 4000 Hz, and +1,5 db between 400 hz and 2000 hz)
2) Waves MaxxBass (-20 Db at 90 Hz)
3) Ultrafunk Compressor : treshold - 13 Db(depends on your bassline volume!!!), Ratio 30:1, knee 2, Attack 0, Release 250 ms, Gain 0,5)
For a good bassline it is really important also the kick you use. Every kick ask different settings or adjustments on the baslline to fit together well.
And always take the velocity of the bassline notes as down as possible when the bassline notes meets the kick !!! Or use a sidechain compression, but i don't think this is a good solution for full on basslines
I hope it will help you a bit !!!

Wow great thank you for the advice! I will test out the velocity ideas. Dude... The kick drum is killer how do you get it so thick and clean? I only have battery drum kits and reason 3 for my kick drum samples... But I cant find kicks like these in the programs. Anyways... I didnt know such a good bassline could be created with vb-1, im really suprised. Good job. |

Here is a Fl Studio zip file with an old tutorial i posted on Isratrance. I hope the link still works.
Anyway, you can find the kick sample inside this arhive.
The secret is to let 1-2 miliseconds of free space before the kick begin, and of course, to play e bit with Eq's, use some mid freqs on it, and to cut the very low freqs out.
I never use compresion on kicks, because sometimes, it can destroy it.

nice track..steady throught....nice morning sounds..melodic and beautifull...more power as the track progresses would be really nice....ur samples are always very meaningfull..could not make this one out though..

It's my first posts in this great site, although it's long time I'm searching a forum for Psytrancers, and psytrance producers !
By the way, your Track is great, I wonder wich Synth or VSTi you used , you did really a good Job !!

Well the synth used are: Z3ta (sound efx - most used synth in this track)
Junglist & Vanguard (melodic line), Absynth 3(Pads), Albino 2(noise fx) FabFilterOne(other sound fx) and Vb 1 (bassline).
And on this synths i used also a lot of Vst effects like: Ultrafunk Compresors( all the compressors used), Sonic Foundry Track Eq (all the eq's used), Psp Stereo Enhancer,Lexicon PSP 42, Psp Vintage Warmer, Classic Auto Filter, Waves (ultramaximizer, Maxxbass, Stereo imager) Db Tempo Delay, and Fruity (Reverb, delay 1, delay 2,Chorus, flanger)
