Can frequencies between 0 and 25Hz actually be 'felt'?

I tested how subfrequencies were experienced in a studio with a BIG subwoofer (it went down to about 20 hz) and good acoustics and i found that below 25 hz you are better of killing all frequencies. I could hear musical tones down to 25, but below that it was just undistinct rumble and a feeling of nausea and discomfort. The test was done with sinewaves by the way. |

I've noticed that with heavy sub/bass, the sounds are 'hotter' ... no seriously!!.... my ears begin to feel warmer!!!
Anyone have any idea of the energy/ joules emitted at particular levels? .... Could this explain the feeling of nausea/discomfort as Blizz mentioned?
I personally don't experience any nauseatic discomfort (maybe cos i don't set the volume TOO high) but is this in any way bad for the ears?
Curious ......

below 60-70hz, although the sub I have in the studio crosses at 120hz (not sure how much of it it's actually pushing out though) |

i agree its 63hz and down.
some "special" hz imo:
63hz , lots of power , abit mud , very powerfull
50hz , classic sub frequency , i find it the "clean" sub.
31hz , point of cut sometimes even 23hz.. sometimes 45hz..
acoustic may change alot
100hz-150hz treatmet (reduction) can pumo out more sub
