Hi everyone, how you doing? Hope you guys are doing great.

This question is not directly related to production in a studio.
I've never been in a stage to play my own stuff as well as dj set. Actually, I am no not a DJ, I've never had a CDJ/mixer. Maybe once I had the chance to put my hands on a CDJ/Mixer but It was like thousands years ago lol

Anyway, my question is probably very simple for some of you. If I wanna play my live set (lets say in ableton live), what should I do when I bring my notebook + audio interface to the stage?

More specifically:

a) There is a guy playing right before me, how can I connect my stuff while he is playing his stuff?

b) Which cable should I use to connect my audio interface/computer to the party's sound system?

I could forget some doubts but the general idea is what should I do when I take my feet up to the stage
and don't be like "wtf should I do to get my sound comes out through the speakers ? "

Sorry if it is too noobish question...

hey buddy, thanks. I saw the video but I guess it wasn't what i'm looking for. he is showing how he made his liveset.
I'm more interested in how to connect my computer to the party's sound system. If you are in a party, you see a artist preparing his stuff while a previous dj is playing. In the end of the previous presentation, you are opening your notebook, open your software and connecting some cables to the sound system.
I would like to know what cables they are connecting, how can do this without disturb the guy that are playing and stuff like that. At my home, I just connect my monitors to my soundcard with a simple p10 cables. I don't have any idea how can I do it in a party. There are CDjs, mixers and so on...

Not sure about what cable to use as IV never done a live set. But DJ mixers have 2 channels or more. So on the last track of the previous live set/DJ you just make sure the crossfader is all the way over to the last track playing and plug your laptop etc. Into the other channel, and when your ready to start, just slide the crossfader over to your channel.

I got the idea. So the sound system is connecting to the mixer, right? I'll look at some cheap mixers on ebay so I can make sure everything is right.

Yeah the music goes from your laptop/ cdj/ turntable or whateva, through a mixer channel, then out to an amp, then out the speakers. So you just need to connect you laptop to the mixer.
