I definately go commandostyle on the clothingpart, but always carry my oldschool medicbag around. It holds everything from earplugs, notebook and swissarmy knife to things like my maglite, gaffatape, toiletpaper and always some munch, chocolate and liqourice is preferred 
Also some wierder things like chiliextract, small firecrackers, magnesiumstrips and staranis for my special cigarettes... |

At most festivals i have clothes for at least one week with me...I hate running around in the same clothes for three or four days...specially after taking a shower...
Also i want clean clothes for the return journey...
The rest are only bare essentials:
Tent
sleeping bag
Jägermeister
Towel
hygiene stuff
enough for dancing 3 Days...

Shit, when i went to Eclipse Festival in Quebec this year, i loaded my car till the door's couldn't close.. you name it, i had it with me.. i like to be sure i have everything i would normally have if i was at home..
Tent, Pillows, Sleeping bags, cloths for an army, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, tooth brush, Food, juice, water, a cooler for my beer, beer, secret stash of "you know what", condoms (hey, you never know), and im sure im forgetting stuff..

next time I would go at a festival I will try not to carry much clothes,because usually I find at the tents of those psy-carravans a lot of nice clothes and accesories wich I could buy.
I would surely take a lot af soap to clean my underwear and a bottle of axe perfume to have a good smell and not be stinky.

The essentials:
1 hammock
1 tent
1 sleeping bag (or if it's really warm 1 "bag sheet" will do (no idea what you call em in english..))
1 liter of salmiakki vodka
1-2 cartons of blue camel
2 or more lighters
2 x the money you think you'll need
1 pair of shorts
1 pair of pants
some underwear
some socks
flipflops
shoes
3-4 t shirts
1 warm shirt
...that's about it I guess
and I know I pack twice as much anyways
