Didn't Astrix have this new album called Red means distortion? That was going to be released some year ago?
Did i totaly miss someting here? it was canceled? or is it released? whats up?
if it is, just delete this  i know he released some remix cd with few tracks not that long ago tho. But thats aint it innit?

dont know about the album bu astrix last compilation with remixes of sex style was released on compact stick.
But evidently all of us will always miss the old astrix his tracks were so hypnotic and perfect for sunrise.

yeah, i had the idea of asking this some days also... I went to google and researched a bit and found out a site where it was mentioned something like he had a back surgery of some kind... hope it is not true, though. his album is still coming soon... also he has lots booking (http://www.myspace.com/astrixmusic)
so he didn't quit for sure

The album was ready but then Avi decided to change some tracks and produce some new ones and include them in the album, the cd should be out really soon.
Come on my lazy friends in Hommega start releasing some new stuff hehe.

Not all of us. I respect the man, he knows how to make a nice mix and he is one of the most commercially successful artists, but the music it self gave birth to the "all ready chewed up and ready for the listener to digest", era.
Not to mention the clones and the cheese fest that attracted a whole new kind of (young) audience, that changed the standards of festival music.
It was basically a bit after 2001 when I stopped going to parties, cause that kind of music was played everywhere...even at the Dragonfly parties in London at Crash 66, you'd have some DJ that played the israeli-astrix-clone-cheese-brigade in the final hours of the party.

Disco hooligans: Astrix is not responsible for the full on copycats. He is the father of full on, like Astral Projection are the fathers of goa trance. Blame the crowd for the low standards. Blame the people for asking for this cheesy music. Blame the new artists for not being original. Blame the labels for all these reasons.
Astix albums are gr8. I don't know how his new album will sound but I hope it will be fresh And Inspiring.
