Astrix Vs Gms Vs Alien Project

I've been on two parties by GMS once by Alien Project and once by Astrix. There are some special features that spoils such a comparition (as for example that Astrix was only open air among them) but anyway I could say that these parties have raiting like this:
1. Astrix it was one of the most outstanding moments of my life. The legendary one. Real magic.
2. Alien Project & GMS - Autumn, 2003 were huge raves in Moscow... From time to time (actually rather often) here in Moscow we have realy tremendous parties with 4000-7000 and even more crazy dancing crowd. And both were beautiful. GMS maybe a bit better.
3. GMS - Autumn 2004 was not so good though there were more then 7000 people. Colorless party.

What´s so unique about this mate? Does he sound unique and with superskills even when he fucks up? Don´t u think it sounds the same with everyone that fucks up or does a good mix? Don´t c ur point here....although fully agreed that Riktam mixes like a machine....dunno if that´s good though, I prefer soul and personality in someone´s set over precision ! 
And about who´s best nowadays of these 3 cheesers....they all suck for the main part i.m.o. with some healthy exceptions here and there....when are you guys gonna make some original and psychedelic music again instead of all the mainstream commercial predictable tunes we´ve heard of the 3 of u in the last year

heheh i get your point shawnodese but come on alien project is the most " cheeser " of all 3 imo however im sure he can still surprise us if he really want to. Astrix and GMS still make it to me, specially GMS, last tunes as round & round, happy trails, third dimension remix just rocks.
I remember riktam mixing at trancendence 2003 and i think i get the point of surrender, he lets the end of the music thats is playing keep on while the new one is already on so you can hear the beginning of the new track and the end of the past one together then in the very right moment he turns it off, killer way of mixing lot of precision if little error there can ruin the entire mixing.
i still respect these guys just cant handle skazi anymore

I completely get what you mean Surrender and agree...
Shawnodese - Huh? What do you mean?...His precision is technical, like this music and his soul is proven...Just because someone has technical knowledge doesn't mean they lack soul.....You can't argue that....and you say they are all Cheesers like all the music these days? Well, GMS pretty much created the music we call "full on". So, they are original in what they do. How is that Cheesy? It's not their fault so many people were attracted to it causing many duplicates. I saw GMS when they first came out and saw Shanti when he was 14....Even then, they were on top of their game....They are "OG" man...Their direction may change, which I will admit is not my cup of tea, but they are still very creative and innovative...They are just in a happier place nowadays...

all threee are cheesiest stuff around,, have seen them all and they are nothing compared to:
HUX FLUX!!!!
this guy can really play live and tweak like nobody else can..
did i mentioned that in one gms "live" the cd started skipping... that really sucked,,, !!!! |

Totally agree with Uncle bob, we think very alike dude.
I have seen gms playing live many times have you ever heard bansi playing the synths? At least he has the balls to press more notes than just turning a knob. And about riktam, I better like precission during a dj set, i don't know what you really mean when you talk about personality, but if it means precense, I guess GMS rocks in this area during their live acts.

I know that Riktam is one of the hardest workin producers. Its a lot of hardwork to be the top of ur game,( and maybe this is the direction their takin )and i dont think its very nice to bash them coz it doesnt mix with ur point of view.

Nowadays all of these 3 are at the same level in my opinion.
not my favorites but Eye to eye by astrix is one of the very best albums ever in my opinion & midnight sun by alien project had some interesting things too in it.
as regarding GMS they were never in my top list.
I heard the 3 of them at fullmoon last year and none of them impressed me but! |
