here's the song..in the intro there is a long speech sample...orginally i think taken from the movie august rush....in the movie its a kid speaking and astirx somehow made his voice sound adult without any garbage or clicks or slowdowns..how did he do this?

sounds to me like he's just reduced teh pitch.. compare it to the movie, i think this sample will be a bit slower...

pitch shifting without time correction doesn't destruct the voice in any kind.
however here it seems I can hear some vocoder also. it is hard to say because I didn't see the film and don't know how the original sounded.
