There's no need to prove any of this, just ask around. They've been here to Serbia... both drunk or something, one was in the backstage talking with people, and the other was looking at the mixer like it was the 10th world miracle.
I mean, they are great... they made fantastic music back in 90s...now they are just blending with the rest.

Well, a lot of artists do play their own stuff with the notebook, because it is a great way to play 24 bit wave files.

Ok maybe they dont exactly play live...I noticed that too watching the FMF dvd.....but they sure as hell still make some amazing music and look like theyr completely enjoying themselves...The prophecy anyone?
However, I can fully understand why organizers feel cheated... |

all I can say is...respect to the organizer! 
I mean what the hell...you ask for tons of gear you're not gonna use, then fake a live act and ask money for it...if I were the organizer I'd take a microphone and tell the crowd that AP isn't gonna do a real live and I'd let someone else play instead and send their asses back to the airport...the ass kicking part is way out of line though...they just deserve to be embarrased if they demand so much gear that they won't use...I wouldn't mind if they said that they would only play from a CD or a laptop...at least then you don't have to call it a live act... alias, what is your problem - is ap your gods or what? they cheated organiser and people that came to that party to see them PLAY LIVE, but all what they did was PLAYING IPOD and CD, while organisers had expensive gear set up for REAL live performance on demand by AP, yet they didnt do sh1t with them! is that fair? no. is trying to double-cross people ok? no. should the person whos trying to steal someones money be punished? yes. and slap in the face is the least harm to those two, organiser could sue them and that would cost ap much more than red cheek  |

I've seen similar performances in SF, complete with the cd skip and all.... I think that for a live performance, you really need to be doing something on the fly, whether it's noodling around on a synth, playing new versions of tracks in a quality that isn't found on cds,adding realtime effects to make people go wtf, or mixing and matching sounds from multiple tracks into one giant miasma of sounds... just do something...
But this brings me to a new question about promoters, why do promoters only ask for live sets especially if they know that there's very few people that can do their music from the ground up on the fly... Why not ask the ones who dj for dj sets? Maybe that might be more interactive than somebody standing there looking trashed...

lol what happend to the old glory days where people actually tweaked their tb-303 and sh 101 live, and used 909 as well.. i mean all those machines are perfect for live situations no need to be faking, its a shame! at least play some pads with a nordlead or something wtf are people getting lazy?
