review time

got the shuttle bus from stratford again (you know i love it mike..) and arrived at about midnight to find dj kuma (mitch from mumbo jumbo) nicely laying it down on the main floor (and incidentally also winning the djs haircut competition). just what was required to throw me right in at the deep end kuma replaced mick chaos who is ill (lets hope he gets better soon )

next up at about one was avi and spacecat. it was not entirely clear at what point avi stopped dj'ing and started playing live but certainly the last 2 hours or so was pretty mindblowing space cat action. I'd been looking forward to hearing spacecat again, as i have fond memories of them at enlightenment in march '99, and i was not dissappointed. power-up kiddies!

avi was on until four and then xerox took over (with some help from bladerunner towards the end) to play three hours of excellent stuff he had evidently decided that the way to my heart was to play a selection of my current favourite tunes together with a very large number of tracks that i had never heard before but which'll probably become my current favourite tunes at some point in the furture , and he was correct, really excellent full on madness...

unfortunately i powered down about half an hour before the end and decided to slink around in the foyer assaulting people with flyers (that is the flyers were the instruments of the assault, not i went and attacked randoms holding flyers )

all in all, a LOT of fun

adios, i need to go and pack for portugal           >>love will tear us apart...<<

Yes well I enjoyed Space Cat a lot... lots of searing acid leads etc as you might hope.

But Xerox was a total revelation and blew my mind to pieces. I thought his was amazing from start to finish. Dense, psychedelic, full-power, squelchy madness.
I bought the new album a while ago, but I am listening to it with different ears now (right now, actually).

The crowd was great and I took the oportunity to say hello to some people I recognised from the countryside last weekend... There were the usual heat issues, but a massive fan at the front helped no end.

Water bottles being filled up at the bar was welcome (like at wacko shanti) and i think should be compulsory by law:)
