great ,i like sun project. It is not about acceptable or not,the important for the consumer should always be only the sound and not the person's look imo.

...unless it's a stage act that really is a show - like JM Jarre or Shpongle.

In either case - why would it be a bad idea?

so if the sound is the most important then no one in the stage is really important, what about a no stage party?

great.Lots of nice parties exist in forests without any stage.A table ,actualy a generator and a sound force should be enough, and a good sound source .
Most often I could say nothing about how the artist looked like tbh.The sound is a guide no doubt

have u ever watch psykovsky play..?
aside from playing great music he make a performance on or off stagee.. u can see the devotion of this man for his work..
i think customs can be use but only if helps to the identity of music..
since this music is open to interpretation for the lack of lyrics (actualy no lack since the simple are not required) you can get to the real story of the track and have the message that the artist intentds to spread with his music if they perform on the back of the decks while having a custom or dancing in a specific way of making certain types of movments.. and actualy i think its even more fun and trippy

like a play

That would add something to the "live acts", when the music has some meaning and you try to show it through performance, its lovely           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

its fun if the costume complements the music, like this:

All you need to do to inspire me as a dancer is to like the music you are playing and express that in some way. To me the simplest and often purest way to express this is to in fact dance to what you are playing. Stage presence is just as important (and maybe moreso) when the DJ is a couple feet away from you and hunched over a table

Goofy hats and costumes are all well and good...I remember seeing Flip Flop wearing some ridiculously oversized native american headdresses and I got a kick out of it.

Or those masks that DJs wear at a certain angle so that while they're hunched over and looking at their CDJs the mask is staring straight out at the dance floor...that shit trips me out sometimes.           If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe
