and the visa story is very easily explainable with just a minor amount of common sense.

1. a business visa cost in almost all cases of us bad payed psy artists mush more then we are getting payed for a gig.

2. its alot of fucking paper work to apply for such thing, uŽll need guarantees from the company who is going employ u (as it gos for most promoters i know around the world they arent registered businesses!!?)
and lots of other papers, and often also financially guaratees are needed.

3. in most cases there would be no way to get a buisness visa for a dj gig where u are getting 500 bucks payed, the most embassy's would rather laugh about u then taking that serious.
and then mush more relevant is that many artists are nationalities from countries where the ppl have problems to get a normal visa for many places, so how would u expect to be able to get a business visa?

luckily in most places in the world the governments are nice with this case and its a non written regulation that artists who earn just underground fees are getting ignored... then it seams that even most authorities have enough common sense to see that it wouldnt work else.

thx for letting me waste my time=)

thank you. makes a lot of sense           Nothing is said that has not been said before.

With all due respect to the orgs and the artists, Technodrome is in jail because he was consuming and carrying a large ammount of illegal substances. The Israeli government will not be able to help him out this time over. Moreover it is worthy to note that certain substances which are a big part of indian culture and religion were banned in the 1970's due to pressure from the Israeli and American governments who were alarmed that a large number of american and israeli nationals came to India to consume these substances. Thanks to the irresponsible action of these tourists, India had to ban these substances. It has become common knowledge in the law enforcement world, that whereever a trance party exists, they ae bound to find contraband. Instead of proving this theory wrong, all of us who are part of the scene has only proved this theory right.

The real point here, is who responsible to making of the working visa, the artist or the party org that brings the artist..

Since the starter of the topic, seems to be sure it is upon the DJs ( or so it feels to me )

I have an opinion that the party org has the responsibility of taking care of visa and of costs that are concerned with the visa. Most of the party orgs wont bother doing that since the costs are high and there is much paperwork involved.

Simple as that           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

it depends also form which country to where you are going to travel/play. as for the issue of business visa, well we all know the party organizers promoters are not companies with hugh profits at least most of them and most of them are operationg even half legally and half illegally, so there is no guarantee neither money for it. but actually is nothing strange about, as promoter if u take all the expences of travel and arrange the visas (tourist), and the dj's are working for 2 or 1.5 hours. so what?? only the goverement does't get his taxes on this few hours of work, come on.           to use your head you have to go out of your mind

In The UK, they consider that pay - if you work, for anything at all, other then free...its considered pay

A business visa could have saved me a lot of trouble when I went to Israel, but more often than not it's way too much of a hassle and requires too much organization to spring for a business visa.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

You mean that playback liveacts/DJs aren't paying any taxes for flying to a foreign country and pressing play on their ableton? Nice racket you guys got there           I don't use ideas. Every time I have an idea it's too limiting, and usually turns out to be a disappointment. But I haven't run out of curiosity. -RR

ssshhhh, you'll upset them and we'll have to listen to all that old old kaka about "it's live music because I'm on stage, it doesn't matter what I'm doing" again until we're forced to stick knitting needles into our ears to stop the pain.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
