Artists spinning on a tourist visa

I believe that most artists apply for a tourist visa while visiting another country where they would be playing in a pub or party.
This is completely relative to the jurisdiction and law of each country of course, but in general.. don't you need a working or employment visa if you go to another country to play and earn in the respective currency of that country? isn't it illegal to work on a tourist visa?

With all due respect to the orgs and the artists, Technodrome is in jail because he was consuming and carrying a large ammount of illegal substances. The Israeli government will not be able to help him out this time over. Moreover it is worthy to note that certain substances which are a big part of indian culture and religion were banned in the 1970's due to pressure from the Israeli and American governments who were alarmed that a large number of american and israeli nationals came to India to consume these substances. Thanks to the irresponsible action of these tourists, India had to ban these substances. It has become common knowledge in the law enforcement world, that whereever a trance party exists, they ae bound to find contraband. Instead of proving this theory wrong, all of us who are part of the scene has only proved this theory right.

and the visa story is very easily explainable with just a minor amount of common sense.
1. a business visa cost in almost all cases of us bad payed psy artists mush more then we are getting payed for a gig.
2. its alot of fucking paper work to apply for such thing, u´ll need guarantees from the company who is going employ u (as it gos for most promoters i know around the world they arent registered businesses!!?)
and lots of other papers, and often also financially guaratees are needed.
3. in most cases there would be no way to get a buisness visa for a dj gig where u are getting 500 bucks payed, the most embassy's would rather laugh about u then taking that serious.
and then mush more relevant is that many artists are nationalities from countries where the ppl have problems to get a normal visa for many places, so how would u expect to be able to get a business visa?
luckily in most places in the world the governments are nice with this case and its a non written regulation that artists who earn just underground fees are getting ignored... then it seams that even most authorities have enough common sense to see that it wouldnt work else.

im allways make a work permission/work visa for artists i bring to israel and i allways ask for work visa from organizators who book me abroad.
its simply feels much better and u dont need to lie at airport passport control.
make is straight and life gets easier.
