Inspired by rich's post in the "Casual Best of 2006 discussion" topic, I think this deserves a topic on it's own.

I want to hear from artists and DJs.
What was your favorite set you played this year?

Could be either a festival, party or in your room alone or with friends.

The set that most defined how you felt in that moment or that sums up who your were this year.

Thanks

My favourite set was just over a month ago, where I djed tech trance and darker psy at our own event.

Seemed like the crowd enjoyed it, and so did I.

Some of it is on video here : http://www.doei.org/misc/electrobeat-mutation-17-11-06-aarhus.rar

It was a warmup dj set, before a gappeq live set. Used lots of older tracks, some of which I have been wanting to play at that kind of event for ages. So, it was special to finally get the chance to do it, and people really seemed to dig it, which is great, because for me the tracks brought back so many fond memories - and now, they are even more special to me

I played a great chilled/psy set a few weeks ago, for my college's DeStress Fest.

Lot's of Carbon Based Lifeforms, Hallucinogen, Gorrillaz, J.Views and Karsh Kale.

Was fun

Best experience for me was playing live during the night and djing at sunrise at a party in the mountains of Takaka, New Zealand. Simply amazing!!! Looking forward to playing there again at new years in front of an even bigger crowd.

my best set of this year was the closing set of TAZ festival, Back2Back with my favourite Psychedelic producer and my closest friend Yuli (Perfect Stranger).
We played an Electro full power set, and got some amazing feedback from the crowd. we both stood there with amazement in our eyes to see this dance floor move like it did.
amazing experience. to me it was an hour of pure goodness extract.

can't think of just one so i'll name three

1.Ranking in number one,and joining to the T.A.Z bonanza(previously stated by yul+avishay,
and will probably be selected by a few more dj's) -
My live and short dj set there, were the most fulfilling for me this year.
The festival & the crowd were simply unmatched, and by now TAZ is already a milestone in israely trance history.

2.Live in Boom festival -what a rush
it's not about the amount of people or the huge production, something in the air was just special, and rare.

3.Dj set in Paris this december - in an underground lair under alexander bridge,
an awesome and full packed super happy party.
the dj table was ON the dancefloor,so the crowd literally danced on you
i was quite sick with a cold on that night, but every track seemed just right and the energy from the crowd was heart warming... so it was a blast

Good times

Last month we had a small party we were maybe a 200 people in the begining then many people left by morning time and only 50 beautiful people were left! It was the best time we played old school like 2004 and some of the new ones including some tracks we had prepared. It was great everybody was one and the music and the people were one big ball of energy. I enjoyed so much with all the people smiling and all the music and high energy wow man! I wish to see thousands of people together on this state of mind, smiling, laughing feeling the music and feeling each other so much contact is incredible!

          Boom :)

1. Chillout set at Soulclipse. I played progressive at the 2nd stage as well, but my set in the chillout was certainly the most enjoyable. It was on the night after the infamous storm (where the mainstage collapsed), and the chillout was practically empty when I started playing, but during the 3 hours I played it filled up quite ok, lots of people where dancing, and everyone seemed to be smiling my way. Very pleasant experience.

2. When I recorded a set called Comfort Module, which ended up as a very personal, deep and melodic progressive house/trance set. To this date, I think it's the best set I've ever played in regards of technique and trackselection.

3. The first party by my friends under the name of Electrobeat.dk - I played the opening set, and the party was almost packed from the beginning, with great energy on the dancefloor, and generally the party was a big success for my friends.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase
