I downloaded this album from Boomkat on Friday night, along with its precursor "Iridescence". It's a great piece of modern classical, with Gudnadottir's cello forming the centrepiece. No beats at all, just very moving, largely melancholic music. Perfect for the winding up of autumn into winter! But I'm sure it'll be just as suitable on a warm spring or summer eve too.
Difinitely worth checking out: http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=164844
I just realised that it is listed in the Acoustic Frequencies thread. Funnily enough I was checking out the Deaf Center Live EP (also in the Acoustic Frequencies thread) on Boomkat and the cover of Without Sinking caught my eye, and so I delved further and was richly rewarded.
Check it! |

Boomkat has some amazing stuff. And a lot of it is lossless. It's not the cheapest, but has a great range and is still reasonably priced.
I like the way their browse system works, where similar artists and styles are displayed as well - you can find some gems this way.
The only thing I don't like is their little sample player - those tones that sound every 30 secs are pretty harsh on the ear and make it really hard to listen to the samples loud. It'd be better if the sound just dipped out a bit or something... (my 2 cents).
My next purchase from there will be Jacaszek - Treny, which I still haven't heard.
Btw, Without Sinking is great music for driving!!!! |

Yes the sample music on there is annoying...
Treny has to be the album of all albums...
I played 'lament' last week at Sunrise festival and it simply blew people away.
A superb album 10/10

I'm listening to the last 5 or 6 tracks and apart from the Aes Dana track I don't know
any of them but I really like what I'm listening to !
especially the track before the Jacaszek track.
the playing now section is not always updated
and I really want to know to what am I listening to in the last half an hour.
and I'm still listening at the moment and want to know to what.
I'm listening to the Electroacoustic Frequencies.
let me know Dan ...
thanks in advance ! |

In the navigation bar at the top of all pages is a 'Now Playing' link.
Simply visit that link and it will show you what track is currently playing and also allow you to vote on the track.
Sometimes there is a time delay on the track being displayed to what is actually playing. This delay is normally no longer than 20 seconds or so though.
Hope that helps buddy.
We are looking to update to a new systen that will show the track playing, last 20 tracks and also payment options to link to artist albums.
This option will be with you very soon.
