Hi!
As you all know most (if not all) of the psy-trance artist are DJing and performing live. Now, obviously, they get most of their income from the shows rather then the CD sales and releases.
Is it possible to make good money without performing & DJing? I'm asking as producer. It seems that it is the standard - psy-trance producer is automatically a DJ.

Yes, if you are able to create music that is so good that any organizer will have to pay you a shitload of money, because you are worth it (or the promotional effect of your name/brand is a sure investment for the partys lineup).
In that case, your name on a flyer in itself is enough for you to charge large amounts of money. Performning extra services, such as a DJ set, no longer has any relevance, unless of course you enjoy Djing, which I know at least one very talented musician (Blue Planet Corporation) will prefer over a live act(So I am guessing there are more).
If you are however not able to create music which is so good that organizers just HAVE to book you, then you need to create more sales points for yourself.
So if your product as a musician is not enough to get you a booking, you might need to be able to offer a 2:1 deal, performing as a DJ as well as Live act.
That way the organizer gets 2:1, and you get perhaps 200-400 euro more if your really good, or just the same price that most would normally charge for a liveset.
I hope that made sense 
If you want to earn money, get yourself a day job ;-)

If you are a good producer you dont have to worry about being a dj at all.Also being a producer doesnt mean you are a dj at the same time and vice versa ofcourse.
Even today people like Electric Universe and Man With No Name perform live and only live since like they humbly admit they are not djs.

I have to agree because the return over here is much more spiritual rather than material 
I guess all of us psy-freaks invest our time, money and energy in some way or the other with little if no return-- but it all pays back when u hear that one killaarrgh tune; that either takes you back to a wonderful moment or just makes you really really happy!!
Ive seen my guy invest so much money for his studio--getting no material gain in return n i dont hesitate spending on it either because at the end its not about sales, bookings, the fame or the MONEY-- its about respect, appreciation and the MUSIC!
