im still srtuggling with creating sounds that flow around my bass and kick lol, meaning i can synthisze sounds that i like but i mean to make them fit in the stero field around the bass so nothing cancils eachother out, i can see and hear what i mean, do u?
cheers need help on this. i highpass my sounds that are non bass etc, i just mean the best way to give sounds there own sonic space,
sends, eq , distortion , reverb , i mean the use of all these are gunna muddy things up.
so how do i go about crafting each one for its own sonic field.

Hey there mate, drenched reverb can make the sound seem likes it on the back, dry signals make it seem more up front, i like distortion on sounds to add texture and dirt so the clean sound differiate from the others i'll hard pan one to left and the other to right ( the distortion patch that way it really bangs nice)
panning , and eq is where its at.... i think ur question is more mixing related than arrangement? also u don't craft em one by one u craft em once ur track is bout completed so u can hear all the elements, from there u start to cut and just a bit of adding eq, less is more  also you'll see here what needs compression... automate panning, eq aswell at least i do, to eaches own some like filters some eq i like both im nuts lol... also don't hi-pass all ur synths, please do it to the ones that need it, sometimes certain synths need that thickness otherwise ya mix may sound too thin... trust ur ears mate |

i tried hard left hard right, with sylenth identicle patch, and a send effect with say .. cynade distortion? |

have u tryied pitch em a bit off, that can kinda make em sound thicker if thats what ur going for try it out,
also different delay times might help, try ohmz boy or these which are great n they are free cheers -

try ANALOGIC DELAY and BIONIC DELAY i use em and i got expensive delays but these are just nice n simple gets the job done n sound good... what more can u ask for hehehe... delays are awesome,,, im a delay freek haha |

analogic & bionic are awesome, i use them all the time too.. open two fx channels and split those two plugs on (one one the first & one on the second) and use two different delays, for example, in your mix, one ping pong the other more classic with big feedback maybe (experiment with your sounds), highpass- lowpass these delay tracks according to taste, throw a distortion on them (on the fx track) and make them more live if you want,, use the send fx on tracks according to how much fx you want, automate the send effect..
also try to use another two fx tracks if u want, with two different reverbs, one shorter, one bigger,, for percussions , fxs , leads etc ..
with four fx tracks you have so many places to go and ingredients to mix

hey dude made a virus sounding filter on bass usin this chain- audiorlzm bassline 2 hi passed @40 -17.2db slight dip @ 60hz tiny boost @90hz, the bass iz lo passed with a steep slope, so just got bass, on synth fine tune it 3 bars from minimum.
insert qudrafuzz, turn the subz down slightly. the insert c1comp, ratio 6.27 thresh -50 fast attack.
then insert veq4 use preset bass. now open nomads bt gate/expander set the freshold -42, lp filter max, hp at 480, set range to max, and put the decay just over 16.
hehehee less iz more. im experimenting
a filter like clean fat bass that rips , play about with the decay. |
